My name is Kirsten de la Torre!
You may know me as the girl that blows the conch shell to start Lunar Faire. Or the girl that plays the gongs during sound baths. Maybe we crossed paths and had a great conversation.

When I was younger...
I knew I wanted to help others but didn't know how or what it looked like. Growing up Filipino with many relatives already in the medical field it would have been obvious to pursue nursing. It was made very clear to my family that I had no interest in studying western medicine as a profession. Deep down I knew my way in helping people was not going to be traditional. However, at an elementary age in the 1980's I didn't have the vocabulary or resources to research what I was feeling or pulled to do.

It wasn't till I was a freshman in College where I first heard of reiki. What really pulled me in was not just the healing aspect, but the possibility of discovering your past life. At a spiritual festival that I attended a psychic told me that I had to find a Hawaiian reiki master to learn reiki. She also said that it was important for me to take psychic development classes. After researching I found Lori Sison-Coppola from the Huna Healing Center. Yes, she is Hawaiian and Filipino. I obtained master/teacher in Usui Reiki attunment, and practiced mediumship and psychic abilities at the Huna Healing Center.

A few years later I read Brian Weiss' book Many Lives, Many Masters. It was this book that fueled the need to learn more about past life regression. I took one of Brian Weiss' workshops and have been facilitating private and group regression since.

Even with all my accomplishments in my spiritual journey I still felt like something was missing. It wasn't till 2012 where I learned about sound healing and traveled to California. There I trained at the Tibetan Singing Bowl School with Diane Mandle and Richard Rudis. I took my knowledge back to NJ and started doing sound baths. Still something was missing. I studied with Don Conreaux to incorporate gongs and other instruments to my events. There was still this void within me that I still felt needed attention.

In 2017 I found shamanism. It was there I found clarity about my spiritual path. The void that I was trying to fill was my connection to Spirit. I've always known that Spirit and I were close and I've been told this many times. I just never understood or felt how deep it went and how we were going to work together. When I started my journey when I was 6 I never considered Spirit and I working together as a team. Once I welcomed my Spirit Team into my practice my whole life changed. My events, readings, and interactions with others has shifted in a profound and deeper way.
Currently, it's an mind blowing journey.
I always say it's an amazing journey. Seriously, this is my most expansive part of my journey yet. This is what I have planed out so far.
-
Incorporate new instruments and themes to sound baths.
-
Offer training workshops
-
Host retreats
-
Expand my reach (more info in that later)
-
Formulate new healing tools (more info later)

With the ancestral work that I have been doing I have been diving deeper into Filipino spirituality and shamanism. I'll be slowly incorporating the traditions from the Philippines into the work that I do.
